The process for filing a claim does not requires a middle man or an agent. Insurers can directly get n touch with the insurance company. The damage should not be concealed for substantial duration of time. And ideally, insurers should contact the insurance agency for the claim and other formalities as and when the incident takes place.

As a piece of advice, auto insurance documents should be kept in a safe place. The policy should essentially be laminated in order to prevent water or recipe spoilage. Terms and conditions including risk factors, amount claimable, valid insurance policies etc are essential before the claim can be registered. It usually takes 60-90 days post claim registration to settle the dues.
